Outdoor gatherings with friends and/or families won't be complete without some barbecue. This Chinese Five Spice BBQ Prok Recipe from Caroline Artiss is a must try. With the aroma brought by the 5 Spices, it will definitely bring out the best taste in any meat!
500g pork shoulder steaks
3 tbsp honey
1 tsp five spice powder
3 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp tomato puree
Mix all together, marinade the pork steaks for 2 hours or over night is best.
Cook pork on a BBQ or in the oven. Make sure you save the extra marinade to brush over the pork while it is cooking.
If cooking in the oven, preheat to 220c so it’s nice and hot. Use tin foil on a baking tray and pop steaks on top. Cook for 15 – 20 minutes or until pork is cooked all the way through. Half between cooking, baste with the extra marinade. You could always cook the steaks under a hot grill too if you didn’t have a BBQ.
