Mediterranean-style Beef Skewers with Sumac Spice

Make this flavorful Mediterranean-style Beef Skewers with Sumac Spice the star of the night this weekend. Your family & friends will surely have a great dinner!

Serves: 4



  • 675 g (1 ½ lb) skirt (or flank) steak, cut into cubes
  • ½ tsp Sumac spice
  • ½ tsp coriander seeds, ground
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 bell peppers, seeded and diced
  • 4 small green zucchini, cubed
  • 24 cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 long wooden skewers soaked for 30 minutes in water, or metal skewers
  • Store-bought hummus
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Salt and pepper




  1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Cover and refrigerate preferably for 8 hours.


  1. Preheat the grill, setting the burners to high. Oil the grate.
  2. In a bowl, combine the bell peppers, zucchini and tomatoes with the oil. Season with salt and pepper and toss. Alternately thread the meat and vegetables onto the skewers, about 4 cubes of meat and 3 pieces of each vegetable.
  3. Grill the skewers for about 4 minutes on each side or until medium rare doneness.
  4. Serve with the hummus and lemon wedges.
