Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon (3 tsp) USimplySeason Chinese Five Spice

For the Frosting:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: ¼ tsp USimplySeason Chinese Five Spice stirred into the frosting or sprinkled on top
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to the temperature listed on your cake mix box (usually 350°F). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Mix It Up: Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions, then stir in the Chinese Five Spice and optional vanilla or orange zest. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Bake: Divide the batter evenly into the cupcake liners. Bake as directed on the box, usually 18–22 minutes. Let them cool completely before frosting.
