Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mix – Divide the Chex Mix into 2-3 large mixing bowls. Aim for equal amounts of each Chex cereal type in each bowl. This makes mixing easier and prevents spills. In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar and half of the Chinese Five Spice.
  • Melt and Combine – Melt the butter with the brown sugar and remaining half tablespoon of cinnamon. Be cautious as the mixture will be hot. Pour the melted mixture over the Chex Mix in each bowl. Add some of the white sugar mixture to each bowl. Mix thoroughly to coat every piece of Chex Mix.
  • Bake and Enjoy – Spread the coated Chex Mix onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 250°F for 45 minutes. This low temperature toasts the Chex Mix perfectly and fills your kitchen with an amazing aroma! You can sprinkle some salt on the mixture to add an extra depth of flavor.

🔄 Tips and Variations:

  • Spice Adjustment: – Adjust the amount of Chinese five spice to your preference. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more if you want a stronger flavor.
  • Sweet Adjustment: - For a sweeter Chex mix, add an additional 1/4 cup of sugar. You can also add chocolate chips for extra flavor.
