Ingredients

  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Prep the Grill and Butter: Preheat your grill to medium heat. In a bowl, combine softened butter, za'atar, minced garlic, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  • Slice and Spread: Cut the bread lengthwise, leaving one side attached to create a hinge. Spread the za'atar butter evenly on the inside.
  • Wrap and Grill: Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, leaving the top slightly open. Place on the grill, open side up, and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the butter is melted.
  • Serve: Carefully open the foil and slice the bread into serving portions. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Tips:
- BREAD CHOICE: For a crispier crust, use a baguette. For a softer texture, opt for a standard French bread loaf.
- OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil just before serving.

Variations:
- Herby Twist: Add 1-2 tablespoons of chopped fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro to the za'atar butter mixture.
- Dukkah Delight: Substitute the za'atar with dukkah for a nutty, crunchy variation, or combine dukkah and za'atar for a unique flavor blend.
